Ketchup Spaghetti
If there’s one thing that always reminds me of my childhood is a ketchup spaghetti. It’s one food fare that is popular here in the Philippines: instead of using tomato sauce, banana ketchup is used. This gives the spaghetti its unparelled sweet taste that kids truly love.
And I love it still even when I’m already this old. Just this afternoon, our neighbor’s kid celebrated his birthday and they sent us a plate of this delicious poor man’s pasta. I’m still rubbing my belly after finishing that whole plate!
I know spaghetti purists will frown on this variation of their favorite dish, but I’m sure there will always be people like me who will be delighted every time it’s served.
