Jim Johnson Dead at 68

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

On July 28, 2009 American football coach Jim Johnson is reported dead from melanoma, from cancer. He last served as defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.

January of this year, Johnson was announced to be taking treatment for the cancer. Four months later he took a leave of absence because of his worsening condition.

Jim Johnson is praised as among the best defensive coordinators in the National Football League (NFL). Blitzes was his specialty and he has devised carefully planned formations for such.

Even with his skills, he only held the head coaching job once in college and has always been known and hired as a defensive coach. A position he has excelled throughout his professional career.
