Getting Fired for Blogging
That is why blogging is expression and communication.
But the problem with this freedom, as with any other kinds of freedom, is sometimes we run up against people who don’t like what we say and would do something about it.
There have been a number of bloggers who have been fired from their regular jobs as a result of their blogging. Friendster once fired one of their web developers after she blogged about her views of the site’s system.
A Delta Airline flight attendant was also fired when she posted photos of herself wearing her uniform. The company saw it as inappropriate.
While I believe in the freedom of expression, I also believe in the rights of other people for their privacy. When we blog and we name names, we should be responsible enough that what we are writing will not cause any grief or shame to others.
Unless of course that is your purpose.

If that would be against the airpost’s policies, then she should have been a responsible blogger by checking out whether blogging about her job is good.
Too bad she had been fired. She might want to consult a lawyer too – she might win the case and get back to her job.
She runs into the problem of not getting hired in other airline companies because of this.
i agree with gem.
i’ve been working for call center companies who were very clear from the start of an employee’s career with them that any information regarding their clients is strictly confidential. that means that people shouldn’t reveal that a certain company outsourced their customer service with a particular company.
however, seeing call center people on friendster and even on their blogs, they blatantly mention the name of the clients they work for and even post pics of them wearing shirts with the client’s logo on it or shots of their office with clients’ banners/posters.
some people don’t take the confidentiality clause in their contracts seriously, thinking that no one has ever been fired yet for posting pics and info that reveal their call center company’s clients. tsk tsk.
